breathing monitors for newborns
A few minutes after he was born, Taz started making little grunting noises as he breathed. The docs determined that he was having difficulty breathing, either because he just had too much fluid in his lungs, because of an infection, or because his lungs weren’t developed enough. Here we see his nasal cannula (to help get a higher concentration of oxygen to his lungs) and his EKG leads. He also had a blood oxygen monitor on his foot and a respiratory rate monitor eventually.
